Common questions

Everything you need to know about using Aged Oak.

How does the daily check-in work?

Each day you can tap a large "I'm doing great" button. Your family members receive a notification confirming you've checked in. If you don't check in, a reminder is sent, and family can see the missed check-in on their dashboard.

Can I change my check-in schedule?

Yes. You can change from daily, weekly, or monthly check-ins anytime in your settings. Your emergency contacts will be notified of the schedule change.

How quickly does the SOS button work?

The SOS button connects to 911 with one tap and simultaneously sends your location and a message to your emergency contacts. Response time depends on your location and local emergency services.

Will family members see all my health information?

No. Family members see only what you authorize: check-in status, medication reminders (if shared), location (if opted-in), and emergency medical info. Your privacy is always in your control.

Do the reminders really help with medications?

Yes. We send gentle notifications at the time you're supposed to take your medications. You can customize reminder frequency and snooze or dismiss them as needed.

What if I don't check in one day?

You'll receive a reminder notification. If you miss multiple check-ins, your emergency contacts receive a notification. The exact escalation depends on your plan and preferences.

Is there a phone number I can call instead of using the app?

Currently, Aged Oak is an app-based platform. However, our large buttons and voice assistant are designed for easy use without typing.

Can I use Aged Oak on a phone and a tablet?

Yes. Aged Oak works on any device with a web browser. You can check in from phone, tablet, or computer — your contacts and settings sync automatically.
